The cost of reinstating Spanish instruction in Carroll ISD elementary, intermediate and middle schools is approximately $100 per student per year. This would allow for Spanish to be taught 3-7th grade for thirty minutes twice a week at all CISD elementary and intermediate school campuses. The ISD estimates that 9 teachers would be necessary to achieve this, at a total annual cost of $522,000. The EEF acknowledges that not all parents will be willing to contribute and that our reach is, currently, limited. Therefore, we are requesting that you make a minimum contribution of $200 per child (but anything that you are willing/able to give is gratefully received!). Please understand that even if you donate, there is no guarantee a) that we will raise enough funds for the reimplementation of Spanish instruction; b) that Carroll ISD may not choose to reinstate Spanish instruction even if we raise the funds; and c) that even if Spanish instruction is reinstated, it may be too late for your own child/ren to benefit. EEF will always act in good faith to achieve its mission goals and in donating, you will be contributing to the bright future of your community. If Spanish instruction is not reinstated within three years at Carroll ISD elementary/intermediate schools, funds earmarked for Spanish language instruction will be applied to our cultural events fund.
